The forest was quiet, yet one could still hear the trembling squeaks of the tiny baby monkey as he clung desperately to a low branch. His name was Tino, and his wide, tearful eyes revealed how terrified he felt. Just moments earlier, his mother Rhesus macaque, named Rana, had exploded in another fierce burst of anger. She was known among the troop as a wild, unpredictable mother, often pushing her baby too hard, far beyond what his small body could handle.
Tino had only been trying to crawl toward her for comfort, but Rana had snatched him up sharply, shaking him and pulling at his tiny arms as if scolding him for being weak. The shock left him frozen, his heart racing as he stared up at her towering figure. Rana’s eyes burned with intensity, her sharp teeth flashing as she barked a warning. Other monkeys nearby backed away, knowing Rana’s temper was fierce. They watched silently as the frightened baby curled himself into a trembling ball, hoping her fury would pass quickly.
Instead of calming, Rana began leaping around, dragging Tino with her as if trying to force him to learn to climb faster. Each time he slipped, she yanked him back with rough hands. It wasn’t gentle guidance— it was wild, frightening force. The baby squealed in fear, his voice small and shaky. His thin tail quivered as he tried to hold on, but his strength failed. He collapsed on the ground, panting and crying softly.
Rana only glared, then stormed off, leaving Tino alone for a moment. He lay there shaking, too scared to move. The other mothers glanced sadly at him, knowing this poor baby lived every day in fear of his own mother’s unpredictable wrath.
